Introduction:

In previous centuries, some people could not have imagined all of the technology and the technological innovations that are present today.  Technology has developed over the relatively short years to the point that we have machines that can carry out multiple processes at once.  These machines are modernly known as computers.  The definition of computer according to Websters Dictionary is: a programmable usually electronic device that can store, retrieve, and process data. (Computer, n.d.)  This data can be in forms, such as programs and applications.  An excellent example of this data is an application known as Skype.  Skype is a relatively new application that allows users to video chat as well as voice chat with another user anywhere aroud the world as long as there is access to a internet connection.  Just as in any programs, there are some benefits as well as drawbacks.  Skype is a very efficient program, however, and one will find that there are many more benefits than drawbacks with very few issues.
